
Calling all detectives! There’s been a crime! Who solves it? You do. You and your campmates will create your own “whodunit” to solve. You will form a gang of suspects and a team of detectives. Create suspense, decipher clues, and solve the crime through quick thinking and teamwork. Your group gets to perform your mystery on the final day of class for family and friends.

Learn how to take a play from the page to the stage! During this fun-filled week, you will form your own theatre troupe and become producer, director, stage manager, designer, actor/actress...all rolled into one. Create and build costume, makeup, and set designs. You’ll even get your own theatrical makeup kit to keep! Put it all together and perform your production on the final day of class. This will be a great experience for the budding theatre impresario.

You will love this comprehensive and energizing week of dance! This is a great opportunity to become a versatile dancer by learning the fundamentals of a wide variety of dance forms. Each morning you will study the basics of ballet and jazz. Building on this knowledge, you will take workshops in modern and improvisation, among other dance styles. Learn how to create your own dance pieces using your new skills in choreography workshops. A final presentation for family and friends will conclude the week.

Have a blast making people laugh! Back by popular demand, those zanies from Right Between the Ears (produced by Kansas Public Radio) will take you on a journey through live radio comedy. Learn how to create an entire world for your audience using just your voice, a microphone, sound effects, and your imagination. We are thrilled to host the Heart of America Shakespeare Festival's Camp Shakespeare again this summer. Camp Shakespeare is a unique and lively way for young people to discover the basics of bringing the written word to life throught the works of the world's greatest playwright. We give campers an experience full of self-expression, confidence, creativity, and teamwork. Campers participate in acting games and exercises, physical games and techniques, Renaissance dance, improvisation, poetry work, sword and costume design, stage combat, vocal techniques, and arts and crafts. Campers will perform an abbreviated version of King Henry V on the Saturday after the last camp date.
