This course will provide your tiny dancer or budding actor with a sampling of artistic experiences. Our professional teaching artists will work with your child to provide introductory instruction in performing arts disciplines: creative movement, drama, and music. Your child will have the opportunity to explore his or her own talents and interests while becoming a well-rounded artist.

Children will be delighted and energized as they learn proper balance and technique of West African Dance and Drumming. The drumming portion of this class allows students to learn slap, tone, base and flam techniques. The dance portion offers the opportuntity to improve performance skills, and allows children to express themselves. This class is designed to improve your child's self-esteem, concentration and cultural awarness. Students will study century old rhythms that depict harvesting, fishing and life from Mali, Senegal and Guinea. Wear dance/workout clothes and come have fun and learn in an up beat enviornment with live musical accompaniment.
